Snap Profile

Claire Cockburn is a Consultation Officer at Bournemouth Borough Council in the UK, and has been using Snap for 4 years.

What sort of surveys are you involved in ?

Bournemouth Borough Council

"We are involved with ongoing customer satisfaction surveys and ad hoc surveys on a variety of issues i.e. proposed new facilities (ice rink, cycle track), changes to existing facilities (parking services, dog byelaws), usage of services (seafront) etc. We conduct surveys internally (staff) and externally (residents, tourists, businesses etc).

The most recent survey which I was involved with was analysing the results of a telephone survey about how residents feel they can influence decisions in Bournemouth."

Claire and the team use a range of data collection modes including , paper surveys (both face to face and postal), web surveys and we use an external agency to conduct telephone surveys using CATI – who provide the data as a CSV file which is then imported into Snap.

Other projects she is working on include:

  • Web based survey about staff travel habits.
  • Telephone survey about the Council magazine
  • Telephone survey about Crime and Disorder in the area
  • Face to face survey of seafront visitors
  • Paper based survey of parking services
  • Postal survey about proposed changes to a local park.

"I enjoy the challenge of taking on a new project and deciding the best way to meet the objectives i.e. methodology, sampling, questionnaire design etc. I also enjoy analysing the findings and reporting on them in such a way that they can make a difference."

Thank you Claire - the profile is much appreciated especially as you and the team have a lot on the go!
