We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our web products and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

WCAG 2.2

WCAG 2.2 published as a recommendation of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) in October 2023. WCAG 2.2 extends WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 covering a wide range of recommendations for making Web content more accessible. Following these guidelines will make content more accessible to a wider range of people with disabilities, including accommodations for blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these, and some accommodation for learning disabilities and cognitive limitations.

These guidelines address accessibility of web content on desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. Following these guidelines will also often make Web content more usable to users in general.

There are other ICT (Information and Communications Technology) guidelines that are based on WCAG 2.0 as detailed below. Compliance with WCAG 2.2 level AA is equivalent to, or improves on, compliance with WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Section 508

Section 508 is the US standard for accessible ICT. It is part of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973. In January 2017 the US Access Board published a final rule to update Section 508 standards in response to market trends and innovations, such as the convergence of technologies. The refresh also harmonizes these requirements with other guidelines and standards both in the U.S. and abroad, including standards issued by the European Commission and with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 Level AA. Therefore, web questionnaires created in Snap are compliant with Section 508 Standards.

EN 301-549

EN 301-549 (V3.2.1) is the European standard of Accessibility requirements for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) products and services in the European Union. This version was updated in August 2021 and draws heavily from the W3C’s WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines and follows the same underlying WCAG main principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust.
