Needing help with the volume of paper surveys

Bournemouth Borough Council regularly survey their tenants and residents to identify where improvements may be necessary, and to monitor whether new resources and initiatives are making a difference to residents’ lives.

Bournemouth Borough Council use postal surveys in order to target households and to ensure a representative sample by ward across the borough is achieved. The council planned to build the questionnaire and analyse the survey data themselves, but needed help printing and mailing the questionnaire to a representative sample of tenants and residents. The council also required cleaned and weighted data ready for analysis.

Our in-house Data team gets to work

We assessed the demographic proportion of tenants and residents in each area and developed a sampling plan to ensure that a representative respondent group was targeted.

Our in-house team printed and mailed surveys to over 2600 respondents. As we received replies we manually entered the data into a Snap survey file. Once the survey closed, we applied weighting to the data to ensure it was representative. We then provided the cleaned data in a Snap file ready for the council to begin analysis.

“We have worked with Snap on a number of projects as well as our residents survey and our tenants survey. Snap’s involvement in these projects has been key in ensuring the whole process runs smoothly and that the data we receive is reliable and accurate. We have always found the team at Snap to be extremely helpful, approachable and flexible.”
