\"WorkingThis worksheet explains how to setup a multi-column survey in Snap, pictured above. For the purpose of this example we\u2019ll begin with a new survey.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Creating the survey<\/h3>\n

Opening Snap will bring up the Survey Overview window.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Click \"plus to create a new survey.<\/li>\n
  2. The Survey Details dialogue appears.\n

  3. Give the survey a Name and a Title. Choose the language, publication medium, and template used for the first edition in your survey.<\/li>\n
  4. Click OK to have Snap create and open the survey.<\/li>\n
  5. Once the survey has opened, press the [Enter] key to add a few variables.\n

  6. Click \"Save\" to save the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Step 2: Setting the survey to multiple columns<\/h3>\n

    1. Click \"\" to open the survey\u2019s properties.<\/li>\n
    2. Select the Margins section, and set the Columns to 2.\n

    3. Click OK.
      \nNote: You may notice that this adjustment and the upcoming Step 3 adjustments have little or no impact on the survey\u2019s layout in Design Mode. This is because Snap doesn\u2019t finalize the column layout until the survey is previewed, later in step 4.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Step 3: Controlling the column layout<\/h3>\n

      1. Select the Title variables in the survey, and using the Columns selection, ensure that the Full Page option is enabled.\n

        Note: Disregard the number to the right of the Columns selection as this is a separate feature.

      2. Similarly, select the remaining questions in the survey and ensure that the Full Page option is not enabled.\n

        Step 4: Previewing the survey<\/h3>\n

        1. Select File | Publish to bring up the Publish Questionnaire Dialogue.<\/li>\n
        2. Set the Method to Preview Only.\n
