Recent figures from specialist employment research consultants, Shine Feedback, reveal some worrying trends amongst UK businesses. A third of employees surveyed report that they are not encouraged to discuss their career and development needs with their line manager. A similar proportion indicate that they don’t receive regular feedback on their performance or have an annual appraisal.
