Custom URL's in Snap WebHost

How it works

Snap Surveys offers a custom URL service for organisations wanting to create online surveys which either appear to be part of their own website (domain) or to reflect the branding of an organisation within the Snap Surveys survey URL. This can create a greater feeling of trust and security for the respondent; it also aligns surveys with an organisation's overall branding in a more seamless way. There are currently two options.

Option 1 – Co-branded custom URL

This URL allows you to include your organisation's name in the Snap Surveys URL for all the online surveys you send out via Snap's online subscription service, Snap WebHost, which currently look like this

Example: http://www.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=12345678

A co-branded custom URL would look like this

Example: http://yourorganisationname.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=12345678

To add a co-branded custom URL to your Snap WebHost account = £150 per year for 2 years*

We arrange this option for you.

Option 2 – Own-branded custom URL

This URL option allows you to remove any mention of Snap Surveys from the URL for all the online surveys you send out via Snap's online subscription service, Snap WebHost, and which currently look like this:

Example: http://www.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=12345678

An own-branded custom URL would look like this:

Example: http://surveys.yourorganisationname.com/surveylogin.asp?k=12345678

To add an own-branded custom URL to your Snap WebHost account = £300 per year for 2 years*

You will need to arrange to re-direct the sub domain URL, see notes below for details.

Secure surveys option

A standard Snap WebHost account (without either of the branded URL options above) already uses encryption when you publish surveys to keep response data private and secure.

If you want to use encryption with either of the branded URL options above, you will need to purchase an appropriate security certificate (SSL Certificate).

If you would like us to set up a SSL certificate on your behalf for your sub domain URL it is £200 per year for 2 years*

Notes

Only one custom sub domain URL can be assigned to each Snap WebHost account. So for example if you wanted two sub domain survey URL's, http://customersurvey.yourorganisationname.com and
http://staffsurvey.yourorganisationname.com you would need two separate Snap WebHost accounts.

How to set up a customised sub domain URL for Option 2

Decide what sub domain name URL you want set up. You or your IT department will then need to speak to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to make some DNS (Domain Name System) changes.

A DNS CNAME record has to be set-up by your ISP to point the sub domain URL you have chosen e.g. http://surveys.yourorganisationname.com, to, customurl.snapsurveys.com.Your custom URL is then added by us to your Snap WebHost account.

Once the initial set-up has been done, you will be able to choose on a survey by survey basis whether to use your custom URL or the original snapsurveys.com URL.
