Law and order
Lindsey Baxter and the team at Hull Citysafe (part of Hull City Council) are involved in a range of surveys.
The types of surveys the team are involved with varies widely, ranging from customer satisfaction consultation around service provision, to identifying the public’s priorities for their neighbourhood in terms of crime and disorder and gaining insight into assaults presenting at the local hospital A&E unit.
The team were recently involved in a survey to find out the level of understanding of senior management and Council Members about their obligations around section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act.
Data collection
"We try to collect data using the most appropriate method for the type of survey we are undertaking. At the moment the neighbourhood priorities survey is being completed using paper surveys, but within the next couple of months we shall be starting to use PDAs to save on data input time. Internal surveys such as the ‘Section 17’ consultation tend to be web based".
