Answer masking

Answer masking can be used to screen (or mask) answers in a question using responses given to one or more previous questions. Masking helps to personalize a questionnaire to the respondent and improve data accuracy.

Example

A questionnaire includes a multiple-response question,

Q1 "Which of these vegetables do you eat regularly?"

Carrots Tick
Peas
Potatoes
Beans
Spinach Tick

Q2 "Of the vegetables you eat regularly, which is your favorite?"

Carrots
Spinach

Both questions have the same list of choices available. Snap's mask facility can be used to restrict the list of choices in Q2 to the answers given by the respondent at Q1 (the "favorite" that they choose has to be one of the two vegetables they said they eat regularly in Q1, Carrots or Spinach).

Snap Survey Software allows masks to be applied to any single or multiple-response question.
