In the UK, AstraZeneca’s HR department conducts web surveys to understand candidate and manager’s perception of the recruitment process. All recruitment and staffing research is conducted via the web. This method provides valuable feedback with the advantage of faster response rates and lower costs. The company has found that candidates and managers are more inclined to fill in web surveys with a more honest response because of the anonymity factor that’s associated with the web.

The on-line feedback process starts the minute a candidate applies for a position. The quality of hire of candidates is monitored and evaluated to ascertain how well they are performing within their position. Even employees that leave the company are consulted through an exit questionnaire to find out their reasons for leaving and the impression they have of the company. The constructive feedback received from this process is used to measure and monitor the recruitment procedures that are in place but more importantly to drive change and improvement within the company as a whole.
