BACKGROUND OF BEST VALUE SURVEYS
Best Value Authorities in the UK are required by central government to undertake five user satisfaction surveys in 2006/07. The surveys are used to collect data for performance indicators and provide an invaluable source of feedback from citizens on the quality of their public services.
OUTSOURCING TO MEET DEADLINES
Authorities can choose to carry out the surveys in-house or outsource any part or all of the survey process to an external contractor. The research services division of Snap Surveys, SurveyShop, is currently working on twenty-eight surveys for various councils countrywide. We have carried out work on Best Value surveys since their conception in 2000/01 and gained further experience in 2003/04. We guarantee to meet all survey requirements and deadlines whilst providing a personalised service.

PREPARATION OF DATA TEMPLATES
In September, the templates for the Benefits and Tenants surveys became available. For Snap users, we offer two options for the preparation of data files for submission to the official website:
OPTION 1 - Outsource the data conversion to our SurveyShop Data Centre
We provide a cost-effective and timely service to carry out the data conversion. Simply provide us with your data in Snap, Excel, SPSS, triple-s or flat ASCII format and we will return an Excel file to you in the correct format for submission. You will receive the following benefits by outsourcing to us:

OPTION 2 - Use our HelpDesk team who can provide relevant worksheets
Over 83% of councils use Snap survey software and will most likely require assistance with converting the data from Snap into the data templates for submission to the official website. Our Best Value SurveyPak contains questionnaire wizards for each type of survey. We also have accompanying worksheets, which are available below and from our Snap HelpDesk to help you carry out this process in-house.
