Learn how to create a bank of survey questions called a SurveyPak using Snap Survey Software

Make designing surveys even easier! You can create a bank of questions in Snap Survey Software which can be saved and used in more than one survey. Question banks are known as SurveyPaks. Snap Survey Software comes with a single SurveyPak which includes many frequently used questions and their translations. You can use these questions in any survey you choose. You can add the questions individually to a survey, add a whole section, or create a survey that contains all the questions in a section. You can also create your own SurveyPaks containing questions specific to your organization, which you can then re-use in your other surveys.

Why are online compensation surveys important to your business? If you want your business to remain competitive within your industry, you need to make sure your business is administering regular compensation surveys.

Establishing a fair compensation level for employees is essential to any business. If your business underpays employees, you may find that employees are seeking opportunities elsewhere, for a higher paying position within another company - and potentially for competitor. On the contrary, if your business overpays employees in regards to salary and benefits, the payroll budget and profitability of your business may suffer greatly. For these reasons, to best determine fair compensation for your employees, your company should use an online survey software solution to design and administer regular compensation surveys to gauge the compensation levels of all jobs offered within your organization.

An online compensation survey is a dynamic tool that can collect and analyze a broad range of data, including average salaries and benefits paid to employees in specific regions and industries, with respect to a specified profession. Compensation surveys are often referred to as salary surveys. However, there is a key difference between the two. While both a compensation survey and a salary survey collect data on salaries, a compensation survey goes a step further to take benefits into account.

Learn how-to send email alerts when participants select an answer to a survey question or a set of questions using Snap Survey Software

With Snap WebHost, Snap Surveys’ online survey management and analysis system, you can send email invitations to a list of participants in your online survey. It can also send an email to a specific email address if a particular answer is selected. This is known as an ‘email alert’.

You can use email alerts to:

notify specific people or departments depending on survey results
send a specific email depending on various conditions (for example, the age of the participant or where they live).

In addition, you can:

include data from the survey in the email (for example, a respondent’s contact details, or their response to a particular question).
send the email to an address that was given as a response.

Email alerts are a very useful capability. For example, if someone expresses an interest in buying a new car, you could send an alert email with their details to the salesman, or if someone is not satisfied with a food item they ordered at a restaurant, you could send an alert email to the restaurant manager.

8 Steps to Administer a New Product Market Research Survey

Administer a new product market research survey in 8 Steps

New product market research surveys are designed to collect consumer feedback about a new product or a new product concept. The product can be anything, from a household item such as food or a small electronic, to a larger item such as an appliance or an automobile. Whatever the product may be, small or large, the process of managing the new product market research survey remains the same, from start to finish.

In developing your new product market research survey, there are a set of steps that should be followed. We have detailed the process.

8 step process of managing a new product market research survey

Choose your preferred survey data collection method: online survey, paper survey, mobile survey, phone survey, face-to-face interview, etc. Online surveys and mobile surveys can be more cost effective. However, keep your target respondents in mind. Some consumers may not have access to a computer or mobile device. Some respondents may be more accessible through mailed paper surveys.
Discuss the survey with other department managers such as product managers, sales, marketing, advertising, product engineering, and finance. Managers from other departments will have insight into the information they want to obtain from the product research survey. As the market researcher, you can take the information you gather from the managers and turn it into properly phrased and formatted question styles.
If you do not have the in-house resources or formal knowledge to conduct a proper market research survey, consider hiring a third party survey research service as they have the professional resources and expertise.
Create the new product market research survey. It is best to ask as many closed-ended questions, preferably at the beginning of the survey. There are several types of closed-ended question types such as single-response, multiple choice, rating scale, and ranking scale questions. Include some open-ended questions at the end of the survey, so respondents can provide comments or express opinions. Also, try to keep the survey short, no more than 5 minutes. The longer the survey, the higher the drop-out rate.
Allow other managers to review and test the survey. Adjust as needed.
Obtain your target respondent panel. Ensure that the respondent sample size is representative of your total consumer base. Survey a mixture of current and potential consumers. You want to gather a good range of consumer feedback.
Administer the survey with your chosen data collection method, and collect and manage results. Online survey software has the advanced administration and data collection capabilities necessary to conduct and manage new product market research surveys to gather effective results. However, you’re not limited to designing and conducting just online new product market research surveys. As previously mentioned, some consumers may be more accessible via paper surveys. More advanced survey software solutions have multi-mode capabilities, allowing you to output the same survey into different formats, i.e. paper, online, mobile (including iPad, iPhone, Android, and Smartphones), and kiosk. The structure and content of the survey remains the same for each mode, but the appearance will be different to adjust to each mode.
